Hiroaki Takenouchi to perform in Leipzig for Blüthner Master Series

Hiroaki Takenouchi looks forward to performing as part of the Blüthner Master Series in Germany on 6th September 2020.

Hiroaki continues his relationship with Blüthner, one of the world’s most prestigious piano manufacturers, after becoming a Blüthner Artist by invitation in 2018.

His programme takes as its central theme the Barcarolle, a genre which originally stems from traditional songs sung by Venetian gondoliers, and is characterised particularly by lilting rhythms in compound time. Hiroaki will perform Barcarolles by Rachmaninov, Sherwood and Chopin, alongside other works which typify the genre, including Liszt’s solo piano arrangement of Schubert’s song ‘Auf der Wasser zu singen’, in which the narrator muses on passing time while drifting in a boat on the water.

The concert will take place in the gilded Spiegelsaal of the Weißes Haus, a Neo-Renaissance former-residence in the Agra-Park to the south of Leipzig.
